Market snapshot for May 2024

In South Africa, inflation moderated slightly from 5.3%, year-on-year in March to 5.2% year-on-year in April, according to data from Statistics South Africa. The primary contributors to the April headline inflation rate were housing and utilities, food, and transport. Meanwhile, inflation also eased in the US, UK, and Japan, while it remained stable in the Eurozone at 2.4% in April.
